Alfa Debug
Connecting machine faults, maintenance knowledge and 3D equipment context.
A Windows application that combines PLC fault information, local AI troubleshooting and interactive CAD views.
The challenge
Help maintenance teams move from an alarm to the affected equipment and relevant troubleshooting knowledge. Fault records, technical procedures and previous resolutions need to be available together during an investigation.
The solution
Alfa Debug organizes production areas, stations, units and components, then connects PLC faults with the appropriate equipment context and 3D models. A local language model uses retrieved maintenance evidence to generate fault summaries, likely causes and ordered troubleshooting suggestions. Technicians can follow procedures, add evidence and record resolutions for future reuse. Backend checks validate the structure and references of AI responses before presentation.
My role
The LAU Industrial Hub team developed the application under my technical and project supervision. I coordinated requirements and delivery, guided architecture and technology choices, and followed the integration of fault data, local AI, maintenance procedures and CAD visualization. I worked with the team to keep the workflow usable for technicians and to preserve clear boundaries between AI recommendations and human investigation.
Value delivered
The application gives maintenance teams a connected investigation workspace and a way to retain knowledge from previous cases. It supports more consistent troubleshooting and makes equipment context easier to access without requiring cloud inference for the documented local AI workflow.
